About Me

Introduction

Hello, my name is Kelsey Corder.  I'm near the end of my master's program of Information Technologies at Western Oregon University.  Currently, I am substituting for the Greater Albany Public Schools.  My goal is to become a middle school math teacher.  I have gained experience with Photoshop, Google apps, Wix.com, and several other websites that create assessments.

My Philosophy of Education

My philosophy for technology in education is that resources should be used to enhance and further a student's learning or understanding.  There should be a balance between finding great resources and creating them.  I want to prepare our students to be digitally literate people in order for them to be successful in school, future jobs, and in life.  The best way to do this is to both teach students how to use the internet to find reliable sources and critique resources, and model for students.  Project-based learning is one of the best ways for students to discover new information, practice problem solving skills and collaborate with fellow students.  I plan to model safe and ethical practices of how technology can be used in the classroom.
